It all started in 1991 when Gianni started the profession of ice cream maker in the province of Modena. The job was new to him but, by studying the recipes, doing many tests, dedicating a lot of time to the activity, he was able to obtain a good, creamy and delicate product.Year after year he passed on his passion for this craft to his brother Sandro and his wife Giovanna: in 1995, in March, they started the business in Florence as Gelatando.The bet was big: an ice cream shop that starts from scratch in a city where there are historic ice cream shops ... a great challenge!Slowly, slowly the work starts; the quality of Gelatando enters the "heart" of customers: sacrifice, dedication, continuous research to improve the product, the many hours spent in the store are rewarded by the constant increase in sales.The workforce begins to be too precise for the work that Gelatando literally takes off: hence the decision to include Gianni (directly from Modena) and his wife Simona in the team.For the work of four people, however, the restaurant in Florence begins to be tight and for this reason, in 2002, we began to plan the idea of opening a new store.
